9 Things Brides Worry About When Planning Their Wedding

Live Band for Wedding Receptions

Planning your own wedding can turn even the most level headed bride, into a basket case. Coordinating dozens of vendors, the wedding party, while staying within your budget, can be a tall task. Here is a list of things that we've seen brides struggle with over the years. We hope that it helps you get ahead of all this. Please don't be shy to call or email us for a referral.

  1. The Wedding Planner
We highly recommend that you get one. Over the years, we've worked with some amazing planners that will think of things and take care of details that you won't believe were possible or even a thing. Let someone else do this for you. This will allow you to not be stressed out, make sure everything and everyone is taken care of, and keep your wedding on track on your big day. Nothing is more frustrating than paying a lot of money for your big day and then losing an hour of more of your reception time to delays. Even though most planners offer 'day of' services, we recommend that you get them involved as soon as possible. 'Day of' situations leave your planner little time to get ahead of a potential snag in your itinerary.
  2. The Venue
The venue is a pretty important factor. Some venues lock you into catering companies that are exclusive to them and some don't. Of course, the size of your room will need to scale to your guest list. We highly recommend to start shopping venues at least a year ahead of your big day (they book at least that far in advance). If you're planning on having a DJ or band, the venue's acoustics will have a big impact on how good they sound.
  3. The Dress
  4. The Budget
Don't be afraid to go second hand. There are a TON of groups on Facebook that specialize in gently used wedding stuff. Take advantage of them. If your planner is doing this, this is an area that you can gently help her out and save yourself a ton of money in the process.
  5. Who To Invite?
Make a list with your partner and stick to it. Don't be afraid to not invite people that you think may be a distraction for your big day.
  6. The Music
If you're looking for a band InVersion Band has your wedding reception covered! We do have a lot of contacts in the DJ world too. Please don't be shy about reaching out for a referral!
  7. The Catering & Alcohol
As stated before under #2, this can sometimes be locked in by your venue. If not, your planner and other vendors may be able to give you recommendations. We certainly can give you multiple recommendations. If the catering is stretching your budget, consider going with a cash bar instead of an open bar. It's been my experience that guests won't mind at all.
  8. The Flowers
  9. The Photographer

InVersion provides at GREAT preferred vendor list for all these things. Over the years, we've developed relationships with wedding vendors that are not only easy to work with, but also just incredibly nice people that go above and beyond to make you happy. You can see that vendor list here.
